Before the long-awaited Easter holidays we are delighted to share with you the latest updates from ABSL. Our first months of the year 2021 have been very busy and we would now like to thank our ABSL Board, Members and Partners for all their cooperation.
New Investors & ABSL Members
We are seeing an increase in the number of potential investors for new business services centres in the Czech Republic, which is a strong sign of the continued growth of our Czech business services sector.
In the last 3 months, we have been asked to support several new investor projects and are involved in discussion with members to grow their centres. 2021 looks like a year of growth for our sector, despite the challenges we all face in dealing with the pandemic.
We are pleased to welcome 3 new members into ABSL: Two new ordinary members Genpact and Envista Holdings, establishing new business service centres in Prague, and the real estate advisors Cushman & Wakefield joining us as a new supporting member.
ABSL Business Services Showcase
We are delighted to kick off the very first ABSL Business Services Showcase on April 12, a three week digital event with almost thirty ABSL members joining to promote themselves and the opportunities in the sector.
Meeting the politicians
Following the successful meeting with Karel Havlicek, Minister of Industry and Trade in March, we will be organising a series of high-level meetings with other leading Czech political parties to promote and advance our sector.
Some of our members are experiencing real issues with securing Visas for non-EU talents, due to Covid restrictions. Process times have jumped from 30 to 90 days and candidates are being lost. We will be writing to the Ministry with our concerns and will arrange a digital meeting to voice our views in April and we plan that several ABSL members will join us to support the case for improving our talent pipeline.
ABSL Digital Conference
Our first ever Digital Conference in November 2020 was a huge success and we are already planning how we can make it even better for our members. We have sent a survey for your input and ideas for the 2021 ABSL Digital Conference and please, let us know your feedback.
We would welcome all our members to be involved in building and delivering the conference – as it is your event, please let us know what hot topics, projects, success stories that your centre would like to present to our members and beyond.
SAP & Finance Education at Universities
We are joining with our ABSL member SAP to help promote and develop the teaching of SAP and ERP systems at Czech Universities. This would be a good partnership with our ABSL Bridges activities to help shape the education agenda for our sector and ensure more graduates with a good working knowledge of SAP and the ERP systems our members use.
We would welcome your involvement as employers and will be preparing a member survey in coming weeks to gauge the level of support within ABSL.
ABSL & Our 2021 so far
It has been our busiest Q1 ever, which is a good sign of a healthy sector and ABSL network. We have run digital sessions with over 400 delegates, published a widely read WFH Report, launched the first ever global MBA in GBS, kicked off 2 Fusion Programmes, built our first ABSL Connect platform, met the Deputy PM and so much more.
